State Farm Good Neighbor Grants (Deadline: November 9)

This grant funds Global Youth Service Day service-learning projects. That means each and every PTPI Student Chapter advisor in the United States should apply.

Bot River-Oberberg South Africa ChapterYouth Service America is accepting applications for State Farm® Good Neighbor Service-Learning Grants to support service-learning projects that culminate on Global Youth Service Day, April 23-25, 2010. School and community educators across the United States can apply for up to $1,000 in funding for youth-led projects.  To submit your chapter's grant application, visit, www.YSA.org/awards.

New PTPI Student Chapter

TomatoPTPI welcomes the Cranbury, New Jersey Student Chapter! The chapter's ambitious plans include:

  • Planning a "Middle Eastern Evening."
  • Contributing to a local women's center.
  • Donating nonperishable food to the Blessings in a Backpack program to raise awareness about child hunger.
  • Donating money to the Make it Right Foundation to rebuild homes in the 9th Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana USA.

2010 Do Something Awards (Deadline: December 15)

Yongin South Korea HAFS Chapter tutors EnglishSince 1996, Do Something has honored the nation's best young world-changers. Do Something Award winners represent the pivotal "do-ers" in their field, cause or issue and are rewarded with a huge project grant, participation in a special award ceremony, media coverage and continued support from Do Something. In 2010, four winners will receive $10,000, and one grand prize winner will receive $100,000 toward their organization or cause. The awards ceremony will take place in spring 2010.
