Get Ur Good On Grants | Deadline: February 22
Miley Cyrus & Youth Service America are offering Global "Get Ur Good On" Grants for Young Volunteers.  These grants are available for youth-led service initiatives on Global Youth Service Day, April 23-25, 2010. One hundred grants of $500 USD will be awarded to support projects addressing critical community needs. Learn more here.

Mary Jean Eisenhower Partner in Peace Award
This award is presented to two Global Youth Forum (GYF) alumni. The middle school award recipient will receive a full-tuition scholarship to the 2010 GYF.  The high school award recipient will receive a week-long internship at PTPI World Headquarters during the summer.  Learn more and apply for the award here.

St. Louis MO Student ChapterSISTER CHAPTER PROGRAM
Chapters from eight countries are participating in the Sister Chapter Program!  They are actively finding ways to connect with each other through letter campaigns, Skype conference calls, shared blogs and Facebook groups.  Learn more.

During their holiday break in December, PTPI's St. Louis, MO Student Chapter members drove to Kansas City and volunteered at PTPI's Operation International Children Warehouse.  What a great way to spend the holidays--giving back!

We welcome our two new interns, Zach Abromovitz and Mallory Miller, who will serve in PTPI's Student Department through the spring.  They will help primarily with Global Youth Service Day and Student Chapter support and development.  Learn more about Zach and Mallory on the PTPI Blog.

We would like to thank Caitlin Belt for her contributions to PTPI's Student Department initiatives during fall 2009.  Caitlin will continue her volunteer work with the Center for Practical Bioethics, and this fall she will attend graduate school to study International Communications.

TEAM PEACE CHALLENGE RESULTS
Congratulations to the 2008-2009 Team Peace Challenge awardees!  More than 25 chapters earned Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards by engaging in PTPI activities throughout the year.

PTPI would like to extend special congratulations to the top three point-earning chapters:  
      • Vaslui Romania performance Atlanta, Georgia - 1,345 points!
      • Secaucus, New Jersey - 1,185 points!
      • Varna, Bulgaria - 975 points!

HAITI RELIEF EFFORT
An estimated three million people have been affected by the worst earthquake to strike Haiti in more than 200 years. We encourage our People to People International family to take action.  Currently, the most crucial need is financial donations. Find out on the PTPI Blog what you can do to help PTPI give assistance to Haiti.
