Chapter Elections and Awards - PTPI's Delaware Chapter

Delaware, USA - The Delaware Chapter of People to People International (PTPI) presented Certificates of Appreciation to three members at its annual meeting on June 10, 2010 at the Hilton Christiana in Newark.

Award recipients are Henry Beckler, Georgi Marquisee and Jean Raleigh.  They were honored for their long-term support of the chapter and their dedication to furthering international understanding.  The awards were presented by Ms. Karen Hoch, Director of the PTPI Americas Region at the organization's worldwide headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri USA.

Mr. Beckler is well known in the area for his community involvement and his Chairmanship of the World Trade Center Delaware.  Ms. Marquisee is the President of Arden Media Resources, producer of Families of the World, an educational series for children.  Ms. Raleigh is associated with Winterthur Museum and County Estate.

Elections at the meeting added six new members to the chapter's Board of Directors: Ms. Cheryl Landry, Ms. Nataki Oliver, Mr. Damaino del Pino, Ms. Miriam Sigler, Ms. Shirin Zoufan and Mr. Donald Whiteley.

The PTPI Delaware Chapter is overseas and over-the-fence, dedicated to "advancing the cause of international understanding on a person-to-person basis".  The purpose of the chapter is reached through educational, cultural and humanitarian activities involving the exchange of ideas adn experiences directly among people of different countries and diverse cultures.  Find additional information at the chapter website, www.ptpde.org, or contact ptpde@ptpde.org
