Terms & Conditions for IMPACT: Morocco

I.  Terms and Conditions

a. Young Generation (YG) IMPACT Weekend 

Tuition: $320 USD for PTPI members; $350 USD for non-members.
The full amount is due upon registration. 

Items Included in Tuition: Welcome reception, continental breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, humanitarian activity, transportation during conference, Saturday lunch, farewell brunch and all sessions.

Items Not Included in Tuition: Accommodations, transportation to/from New Brunswick, Friday’s no-host dinner, airport transfers, insurance and miscellaneous items. 

Eligibility

Eligibility is based on the applicant’s age and school status during YG IMPACT Weekend. This program is for young adults between the ages of 18-25. If you are a 2010 graduating high school senior but are not yet 18, you are invited to participate with a parental permission form, which PTPI will provide upon your registration. PTPI membership is not a requirement to attend YG IMPACT Weekend; however, we encourage applicants to become members, if they are not already.

Cancellation/Dismissal Policy

If circumstances necessitate a delegate’s cancellation from YG IMPACT Weekend, a written notice must be provided to: People to People International; 911 Main Street, Suite 2110; Kansas City, MO 64105 USA. Notices sent via mail must be postmarked on or before March 30, 2010. Fax and e-mail requests also will be honored. Requests given verbally or via telephone will not be considered. Notices received on or before April 15, 2010 will receive a full refund less an administration fee of $50. No refunds will be issued after April 15, 2010.

People to People International reserves the right to terminate a participant from YG IMPACT Weekend at any time with due cause (i.e. violation of IMPACT policies and procedures, medical situations that present a serious risk to the participant or any other participant, or any other situation deemed appropriate by PTPI staff).

b. IMPACT: Morocco

Tuition: $3,650 USD for PTPI members; $3,750 USD for non-members. A $400 deposit is due upon registration. The balance is due in full by March 30, 2010.

Items Included in Tuition:  International airfare from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, NY USA, to Casablanca, Morocco and return; sleeping accommodations; all transfers to/from airport in Morocco; admissions and fees for all excursions as outlined in agenda; scheduled activities and meals as outlined in agenda; and an English-speaking guide.

Items Not Included in Tuition: Domestic transportation or airfare to/from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, NY USA, insurance and miscellaneous items.

Eligibility is based on the applicant’s age and school status during travel dates. This program is for young adults between the ages of 19-25, with at least one semester of college completed or equivalent life experience.

Cancellation/Dismissal Policy

If circumstances necessitate a delegate’s cancellation from IMPACT: Morocco, a written notice must be provided to: People to People International; 911 Main Street, Suite 2110; Kansas City, MO 64105 USA. Notices sent via mail must be postmarked on or before March 30, 2010. Fax and e-mail requests also will be honored. Requests given verbally or via telephone will not be considered. Notices received on or before March 30, 2010 will receive a full refund less the $400 deposit. Notices received on or before April 15, 2010 will receive a full refund less $1,000.  No refunds will be issued after April 15, 2010.

People to People International reserves the right to terminate a participant from IMPACT: Morocco at any time with due cause (i.e. violation of IMPACT policies and procedures, medical situations that present a serious risk to the participant or any other participant, or any other situation deemed appropriate by PTPI staff).

c. Total IMPACT: Morocco & YG Weekend

Tuition: $3,875 USD for PTPI members; $3,975 USD for non-members. (A package savings of $95 to $125.) A $400 deposit is due upon registration. The balance is due in full by March 30, 2010.

Items Included in Tuition:  International airfare from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, NY USA, to Casablanca, Morocco and return; sleeping accommodations; all transfers to/from airport in Morocco; admissions and fees for all excursions as outlined in agenda; scheduled activities and meals as outlined in agenda; and an English-speaking guide. Transportation will be provided for YG IMPACT Weekend participants from the Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick, New Jersey to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) with other IMPACT: Morocco delegates and leader.

Items Not Included in Tuition: Transportation to/from Newark International Airport (EWR) where YG IMPACT Weekend will be held, insurance and miscellaneous items.

NOTE: To avoid unnecessary transfers, it is suggested that you purchase an "open-jaw" airline ticket, which arrives at Newark Interantional Airport (EWR) on May 28 and departs from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on June 8.

II.  Insurance

a. Travel Insurance

PTPI does not provide travel insurance coverage; however, there are two insurance companies that we are familiar with, and both are known to provide excellent travel insurance coverage.  For insurance coverage, you may reach them at the phone numbers and/or Web sites below.  Regardless of where you purchase your travel insurance, please note we highly recommend you obtain coverage that would include lost luggage and trip cancellation insurance.  Please review this information carefully with your parents.

b. Supplemental Health Insurance

In some cases, your insurance provider will not cover large emergencies overseas.  PTPI recommends that you consider this possibility and contemplate purchasing supplemental medical travel insurance.  Supplemental insurance covers such things as emergency medical evacuations.  For more information, please consult the following insurance company:

III. Young Generation IMPACT Policies

Young Generation IMPACT policies are uniformly set and enforced for all delegates regardless of age. For the safety and protection of our delegates, please observe the following policies:

  1. Delegates must attend all scheduled Young Generation IMPACT activities.
  2. ALL PTPI activities will be non-alcoholic and non-smoking.
  3. Delegates are not permitted to use or possess illegal drugs.
  4. No weapons of any kind shall be permitted. Any questions regarding the definition of a weapon should be directed to PTPI.
  5. Mobile phones should not be used during sessions and may be used only during free time. 

Violation of any of the above policies may result in immediate termination from the program.

Additional Responsibilities

It is understood that PTPI cannot be held responsible for any “Act of God” or unforeseen incident that might occur on the part of any commercial carrier from the time the delegate leaves home until the delegate returns home. PTPI shall not be liable or responsible for any injury, loss, damage or delay resulting from any act or neglect of any person or company whose services are retained by PTPI for the benefit of YG IMPACT participants. These services include but are not limited to: hotels/conference centers, restaurants, tour agencies, or transportation/travel companies. Furthermore, PTPI cannot be held responsible for any act, error or omission on the part of any YG delegate that results in additional costs not included in YG tuition. Additional expenses, if incurred under these circumstances, must be borne by the participant.

It is understood that PTPI or any members of its Board of Directors, Board of Trustees or staff cannot be held responsible for any discipline or medical problem encountered with a delegate. A participant terminated from the program for disciplinary reasons or upon the advice of a medical doctor for reason of illness will be asked to return home at the expense of the delegate. No refund will be available in such case.

PTPI reserves the right to cancel YG IMPACT Weekend and/or IMPACT: Morocco before the students’ departure from home, in which case any deposit or monies paid to PTPI will be refunded in full. PTPI reserves the right to change or modify the YG IMPACT Weekend and/or IMPACT: Morocco agenda at any time before or during the event.
