Brandon Wiley’s love of travel began after he graduated from college. With a degree in elementary education, Brandon taught in the United Kingdom for a summer as part of a teacher exchange program. Since then, he has had the “bug” to travel all over the world and to experience different cultures. Upon returning to the United States, he taught 3rd, 4th and 6th grade over a seven-year period. As part of his teaching experience, he organized class trips to Washington, D.C. He also coached travel baseball and varsity girls softball, taking his players to South Carolina to compete in tournaments.
Brandon became aware of People to People International when one of his former students was selected to participate in a program to England and Ireland. Since then, he has worked with People to People International in several capacities during the past six years. Brandon first worked with the People to People Sports Ambassadors program, coaching boys’ baseball at the World Friendship Games in Amsterdam. He also helped lead a delegation from the Buffalo, New York area to Australia and New Zealand in July 2005. His leadership role changed in July 2006, when he was selected as a delegation leader for the Global Youth Forum Humanitarian Conference (GYFHC) in Russia. Since then, he has been a GYFHC leader to Poland, the Czech Republic, Egypt and most recently Costa Rica. When not traveling internationally, Brandon has been an active leader at People to People International’s Global Youth Forum for the past five years. This fall, Brandon was very honored to be elected to the People to People International Board of Trustees.
When not working with PTPI, Brandon serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for the West Seneca Central School District, just outside Buffalo, New York. His hobbies include reading, staying current with new technologies, traveling anywhere/anytime and working with amazing students from around the world through PTPI!
