Joyce C. Hall College Scholarship

The scholarships are $2,000.00 each and up to five (5) will be selected. Each award will be sent directly to the student's university and administered by the university. The scholarship must be used to pay tuition first, then books and supplies. People to People International must approve application of scholarship funds to meet other educational expenses such as dormitory fees, off-campus study, special projects, etc.

Applicants must have had experience with People to People International through participation in one of our various programs, such as the Student Ambassador Program, student or community chapter activities, School and Classroom Program, Global Youth Forum, etc. Applicants must be a current member of People to People International. The applicant must currently be a high school senior or a full-time college or university student and must maintain a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. International students are encouraged to apply. The deadline for the application is October 15th, 2010. Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.

James & Eunice Doty PTP/Congressional Award Scholarship

James & Eunice Doty PTP/Congressional Award Scholarship

In 1986, People to People International established the James and Eunice Doty/People to People International /Congressional Award Scholarship Fund in cooperation with the Congressional Award Leadership Commission. At the end of each calendar year, scholarships are awarded to four high school students (college students are not eligible) who have earned the Congressional Award that year.

The Scholarship underwrites participation in one of several People to People International student programs in 2011 (domestic or international). The scholarship includes all program fees and airfare. The costs of a passport, required visas and personal spending money are not included.

Students are eligible to apply for the 2011 scholarship if they earn and receive the Congressional Award prior to October 15, 2010.

To be eligible for the 2011 Scholarship, applicants must:

  • have earned the 2010 Congressional Award (bronze, silver, or gold);
  • be at least 16 years of age and not older than 18 at time of travel;
  • currently be a high school student or a 2011 graduating senior;
  • be in good academic standing;
  • demonstrate maturity and well-rounded interests; and
  • demonstrate financial need.

Applicants who have already been awarded the James and Eunice Doty People to People International /Congressional Award Scholarship are unable to reapply. You may only receive the scholarship one time and the scholarship is not renewable or transferable. You must use the scholarship during the calendar year specified or it will be deemed invalid. Employees, Officers, Trustees and Directors of People to People International and their respective families are not eligible to apply for the James and Eunice Doty PTPI/Congressional Award Scholarship.

People to People International publicizes this scholarship via the Congressional Award Foundation in Washington, DC. For more information on the Congressional Award program please visit their website at www.congressionalaward.org.

Mary Jean Eisenhower Partner in Peace Award

The Mary Jean Eisenhower Partner in Peace Award is an annual award recognizing students’ accomplishments in peace-building, international understanding, and year-long involvement within their community. The award strives to encourage young leaders by promoting positive community action and a commitment toward Peace through Understanding.

This outstanding recipient will receive:

  • Award Recognition as a “Partner in Peace” by PTPI’s President & CEO Mary Jean Eisenhower at PTPI’s Global Youth Forum Awards Ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia.
  • Paid participation in PTPI’s annual conference for young leaders, the Global Youth Forum (for high school students age 13-18), or equivalent funds toward university tuition/books (if a graduating senior).

Award Criteria:

  • Member of PTPI (age 13 – 18)
  • Exemplification of PTPI’s mission of international understanding
  • Community Involvement:
    • Start or join a service effort that addresses a need in your community
      • Consider joining or starting a PTPI Student Chapter to make the most impact!
    • Target date: complete service work on or by April 23 – 25, 2010 (Global Youth Service Day)
      • Complete MJE Partner in Peace application form and send to PTPI World Headquarters by May 25, 2010.
      • Include at least one picture (digital only) of the applicant engaged in service project. Send via email to youthdirector@ptpi.org.
      • Two letters of recommendation (non family members)
