T. Doty Memorial Award
For unique and Innovative Programming
A: Individual or Group Award
AWARD:
The James T. Doty Memorial Award is a non-monetary award
presented to an individual or group. The award consists
of two plaques. One is presented to the recipient while
the other remains at People to People International
Headquarters which has an engraved listing of recipients.
CRITERIA:
The award may be presented to an individual or group
which has made a contribution to international friendship
and understanding through innovative and unique programming.
No more than two (2) such awards will be presented each
year.
NOMINATION:
Written nominations of individuals or groups for the
receipt of the James T. Doty Memorial Award will be
solicited by People to People International Headquarters
in February. Nominations can only be submitted for programs
which occurred during the previous calendar year. Nominations
must be submitted in written form by Council Chairpersons,
Chapter Presidents, or Chapter members, or members of
the Board of Directors or the Board of Trustees.
SELECTION:
The Awards Committee will determine recipients of the
award among those nominated. The announcement of the
recipients of the award will be made at the Board of
Directors meeting in June.
PRESENTATION:
The award will be presented at the Annual Board of Trustees
Meeting or the Worldwide Conference or an otherwise
designated function. Certificates of Honorable Mention
are also awarded.
ADMINISTRATION:
Written nominations for the James T. Doty Memorial Award
must be received at People to People International Headquarters
by May 1st. Nominations should always be for a program
which was planned and executed in the previous calendar
year. Nominations should include a detailed project
description, a project program (if applicable) and any
additional information which may assist in describing
the program.
