T. Doty Memorial Award
For Unique and Innovative Programming
(Community and University/Student Chapter)
AWARD:
The James T. Doty Memorial Award is presented to a Community, University and/or
Student Chapter. The award consists of two plaques and a monetary award of $500.00.
One plaque is presented to the recipient while the other remains at People to People
International World Headquarters, which has an engraved listing of recipients.
CRITERIA:
The award may be presented to a chapter which has made a contribution to international
friendship and understanding through innovative and unique programming. No more
than two (2) such awards will be presented each year (one (1) at Community Chapter
level and one (1) at University/Student Chapter level).
NOMINATION:
Written nominations for the James T. Doty Memorial Award may be submitted by any
current dues paying member of People to People International. Nominations can only
be submitted for programs which occurred during the previous calendar year.
SELECTION:
The Awards Committee will determine recipients of the award among those nominated.
The announcement of the recipients of the award will be made at the Board of Directors
meeting in June.
PRESENTATION:
The award will be presented at the Annual Board of Trustees Meeting or the Worldwide
Conference or an otherwise designated function. Certificates of Honorable Mention
are also awarded.
ADMINISTRATION:
Written nominations for the James T. Doty Memorial Award must be received at People
to People International Headquarters by April 1st. Nominations should always be
for a program which was planned and executed in the previous calendar year. Nominations
should include a detailed project description, a project program (if applicable)
and any additional information which may assist in describing the program.
