The Make a Difference Award is one of the more prestigious awards bestowed by People to People
International. It may be presented to an internationally recognized individual or organization that has made a significant impact improving people's lives throughout the world for a period of at least five years. Improvement can be measured by actions, deeds, the ability to motivate others to work toward helping individuals less fortunate or a combination of these factors.
Written nominations for the Make a Difference Award must be received at People to People International World Headquarters by April 1. Nominations may be submitted by any current dues paying member of People to People International, and must include a description of how the nominee meets the criteria for this award, along with biographical information about the nominee. Current members of the Board of Trustees are not eligible for consideration.
Past recipients include Eunice Kennedy Shriver (2010), Gary Sinise (2008), Operation Smile (2007) and Olympian Rafer Johnson (2002). View the full list of recipients.
