AWARD:
The International Visitors Program Award is a $250.00 monetary award presented to a student chapter that has gone above and beyond the expectations of the homestay program. No more than one (1) recipient of the Student Chapter International Visitors Program Award may be selected in any one (1) fiscal year (January through December).
CRITERIA:
The award may be presented to a student chapter that has gone above and beyond the expectations of the homestay program, either by extensive coordination and planning involving a large group, or by hosting more than twenty-five international visitors during the year prior to receiving the award. Nominations will be accepted for the same student chapter in consecutive years, but a student chapter may not receive this award in consecutive years.
NOMINATION:
Written nominations for the Student Chapter International Visitors Program Award must be submitted for chapters whose qualifying homestay activities occurred during the previous calendar year. Nominations must be submitted in written form by Council Chairpersons, Chapter Presidents, Chapter members or members of the Board of Directors or the Board of Trustees. Chapter Presidents and Chapter members may submit written nominations for their own programs.
SELECTION:
The Awards Committee will determine the recipient of the award among those nominated. The Committee will present them to the Board of Directors for information rather than approval by or during the June meeting of the Board of Directors. Nominations will be accepted for the same student chapter in consecutive years, but a student chapter may not receive this award in consecutive years.
PRESENTATION:
The Student Chapter International Visitors Program Award will be presented at the most appropriate time and place following the selection of the recipients. The presentation should reflect the dignity of the award. The Annual Board of Trustees Meeting, the Worldwide Conference or the Global Youth Forum are the customary affairs for the presentation. The presentation should be made by the President/CEO of People to People International.
ADMINISTRATION:
Written nominations for the Student Chapter International Visitors Program Award must be received at People to People International World Headquarters by May 1. Nominations should always be for student chapters whose qualifying homestay activities occurred during the previous calendar year. Nominations should include a detailed description of the chapter's homestay activities and any additional information that may assist the Awards Committee with selection.
