Outstanding Leadership Award
B: Board of Trustees

AWARD:
The Outstanding Leadership Award at the Board of Trustees level is presented by People to People International. This award is in the shape of a diamond and made of glass with a walnut stand. The People to People International logo and the recipient's name are etched into the glass. The award cites the recipient as a People to People International leader at the Board of Trustees level. No more than three (3) recipients of the Outstanding Leadership Award at the Board of Trustees level may be selected in any one (1) fiscal year (January through December).

CRITERIA:
The Outstanding Leadership Award at the Board of Trustees level may be presented to an active member of the Board of Trustees of People to People International who has made a substantial contribution to People to People International on an international level for a period of at least six (6) years.

NOMINATION:
Written nominations for the receipt of the Outstanding Leadership Award at the Board of Trustees level may be made by each Vice Chairperson of the Board of Trustees. Each of the three Vice Chairpersons should identify one recipient from their regional area and submit their nomination in writing to the Awards Liaison at People to People International Headquarters who will then forward all nominations to the Board of Trustees Chairperson.

SELECTION:
The Chairperson of the Board of Trustees will take the nominations from each area, make final selections and present them to the Board of Directors for information rather than approval by or during the June meeting of the Board of Directors. No individual may receive more than one (1) such award in this category from People to People International.

PRESENTATION:
The Outstanding Leadership Award at the Board of Trustees level will be presented at the most appropriate time and place following the selection of the recipients. The presentation should reflect the dignity of the award. The Annual Board of Trustees Meeting or the Worldwide Conference are the customary affairs for the presentation. Another time and place may be selected if circumstances so dictate. The presentation should be made by the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees.

ADMINISTRATION:
The three Vice Chairs of the Board of Trustees may submit written nominations for the Outstanding Leadership Award at the Board of Trustees level to the Awards Liaison at People to People International Headquarters who will then forward all nominations to the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees. All written nominations must be received by May 1st. Nominations must include a maximum of two pages of biographical information.
