Outstanding Leadership Award
A: Board of Directors

AWARD:
The Outstanding Leadership Award at the Board of Directors level is presented by People to People International. This award is in the shape of a pyramid made of acrylic with a black acrylic stand. The name of the recipient is etched into the pyramid along with the People to People International registered logo. The award cites the recipient as a People to People International leader at the Board of Directors level. No more than three (3) recipients of the Outstanding Leadership Award at the Board of Directors level may be selected in any one (1) fiscal year (January through December).

CRITERIA:
The Outstanding Leadership Award at the Board of Directors level may be presented to a member of the Board of Directors who has made a substantial contribution to People to People International on an international level for a minimum of two years.

NOMINATION:
Written nominations for the Outstanding Leadership Award at the Board of Directors level may be submitted by any member of the Board of Directors of People to People International to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors in care of People to People International Headquarters.

SELECTION:
The Chairperson of the Board of Directors will take recommendations from members of the Board of Directors, make final selections and present them to the Board of Directors for information rather than approval during the June Board Meeting. No individual may receive more than one (1) such award in this category from People to People International.

PRESENTATION:
The Outstanding Leadership Award at the Board of Directors level will be presented at the most appropriate time and place following the selection of the recipients. The presentation should reflect the dignity of the award. The Annual Board of Trustees Meeting or the Worldwide Conference are the customary affairs for the presentation. Another time and place may be selected if circumstances so dictate and are approved by the Board of Directors. The presentation should be made by the Chairperson of the Board of Directors.

ADMINISTRATION:
Written nominations for the Outstanding Leadership Award at the Board of Directors level may be submitted to the Awards Liaison at People to People International Headquarters who will then forward all nominations to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors by any member of the Board of Directors at any time. All written nominations must be received by May 1st. Nominations must include a maximum of two pages of biographical information.
