 Make
A Difference Award
AWARD:
The Make a Difference Award is one of the more prestigious
awards bestowed by People to People International. A
suitable glass trophy will be selected for the presentation.
No more than one (1) recipient of the Make a Difference
Award may be selected in any one (1) fiscal year (January
through December).
CRITERIA:
The Make a Difference Award may be presented to an internationally
recognized individual or organization that has made
a significant impact improving peoples' lives throughout
the world for a period of at least 5 years. Improvement
can be measured by actions, deeds, the ability to motivate
others to work toward helping individuals less fortunate,
or a combination of these factors. Individual discretion
is encouraged in the assessment of a nominee for this
award. Current members of the Board of Trustees are
not eligible for consideration.
NOMINATION:
Written nominations for the Make a Difference Award
may be submitted by any current dues paying member of
People to People International. Nominations must include
a description of how the nominee meets the criteria
for this award, along with biographical information
about the nominee.
SELECTION:
The Awards Committee will determine the recipient of
the award among those nominated. The Committee will
present them to the Board of Directors for information
rather than approval by or during the June meeting of
the Board of Directors.
PRESENTATION:
The Make a Difference Award will be presented at the most
appropriate time and place following the selection of
the recipients. The presentation should reflect the dignity
of the award. The Annual Board of Trustees Meeting, the
Worldwide Conference or the National or Regional Council
meeting are the customary affairs for the presentation.
The presentation should be made by the CEO and/or President
of People to People International.
ADMINISTRATION:
Written nominations for the Make a Difference Award
must be received at People to People International Headquarters
by May 1st.
Nominations must include a description of how the nominee
meets the criteria for this award, along with biographical
information about the nominee.
